The Pale King created Vessels, beings without free will, to contain the Infection, and selected the Hollow Knight as its vessel. However, the Radiance persisted within him, causing the seals to weaken and the Infection to spread again. It is suggested the Knight is a Vessel who escaped the Abyss. After defeating the Dreamers, the Knight battles the Hollow Knight. Depending on the player’s actions:
